More than 46000 teaching jobs were announced by Sindh Education & Literacy Department back in 2020. The number of candidates who applied for these vacancies was just under a half million. The task for conducting highly anticipated tests was given to Sukkur IBA Testing Service body, STS. The tests were held division wise. STS conducted different tests on different days.

At the end of the day, The results announced were shocking and disappointing. Most of the candidates failed the passing criteria. In fact, 99% of the candidates failed the test and only 0.78% of the candidates passed the test. This result raised many questions over the quality of education in the province. While many blamed the quality and system of education in the province, others heavily criticized the 45% passing criteria-Only those candidates were considered pass who managed to secure minimum of 45% marks in every subject. These subjects included, Mathematics, Science (General), Computer, Social Studies, Current Affairs, Islamiat and English.

Candidates also noted a number of mistakes in the answer keys of the tests. But, STS denied any mistakes in the answer keys.

The next time these jobs are announced, candidates must prepare themselves for the challenge. It is never going to be easy. Going through the past papers is the first step to start your preparations.
